Welcome To Indiana State Representative Phillip Hinkle's Website.
Welcome to my website. It is my hope that you will find information you need and/or want quickly and with ease. With very limited update staff we will work to keep you updated on issues, future events, and important announcements.

We did not get to discuss the possible elimination of property tax on homestead properties in the last half of this session of the General Assembly. In fact, we did not have any real discussion on government reform in general.

While I appreciate those who say it is not possible to eliminate residential property tax, open discussion is necessary and I believe could result in a realization that elimination of property taxes on at least owner-occupied properties is possible. And, we did move forward with discussion and a vote on property tax caps. They are to be voted on by the public on November 2nd for placing into our state constitution.

Please feel free to send any comments, questions, and/or concerns you might have to me by simply using the "contact" icon at the top of our home page. I will personally respond to you as quickly as possible. I would invite you to attend my quarterly public forums which are listed on the "events" page and held during the months of March, June, September, and December. Should you wish to discuss a matter at length, we can establish a time to sit down and talk.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your State Representative. Your input is important and I do appreciate your questions, concerns, and comments. Please do keep in touch and feel free to call, write, email, or stop me on the street anytime.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve you and the great State of Indiana.

Sincerely,

Phillip D. Hinkle
Your State Representative

Congratulations to the Speedway Redevelopment Commission (SRC) for its recent success. Dallara, an Italian-based racing company, was awarded the Indy Racing League’s (IRL) contract to design and manufacture the new IndyCar Safety Cell (car chassis) for all Indy Car’s starting in the 2012 series.

This being Dallara’s only foreign venture, is a real tribute to the SRC and those who have worked diligently to expand investment in the Speedway Community. This new operation will create 80 new great jobs and will invest $7 million dollars into the town of Speedway.

Dallara establishing its manufacturing operation in Speedway furthers establishes Speedway as the “Racing Capitol of the World.” You have definitely secured that title for many years to come. Dallara could have chosen to operate anywhere in the world, but they chose Speedway because they value your world class racing community and the quality of life your Midwestern family values have brought to your beautiful town.

This will lead to more investments in the racing industry, new technology and most importantly, your community. Developing new jobs and creating this type of economic development takes time, patience and commitment. Congratulations to the SRC, Indy Racing League, and the Indiana Economic Development Commission for their diligent efforts in creating new jobs and bringing much needed expansion to the great town of Speedway, truly the “Racing Capitol of the World”.

All of greater Indianapolis looks forward to future announcements of continued growth and job development in the Speedway and Westside area. Congratulations to all and best wishes for much continued success.

Gratefully Yours,

Phil Hinkle
